What should I wear?
Players must wear closed-toe shoes to participate in axe throwing (no flip flops).
Clothing that allows free movement of your arms will make throwing easier for you. Pro tip: flat shoes are best for throwing in.
Fancy dress is permitted. However, we ask you to keep in-mind our other guests, and if your costume is offensive, causes distress to other players, or could compromise the safety of you and our team then you’ll be asked to remove it.
No – We only throw Whistle Punks axes on our lanes, they are tried tested and used with safety as priority.
None of our venues have on-site parking, however, all are within walking distance of public car parks, with the below available:
Bristol – We are right opposite the NCP Nelson Street car park, it’s literally an axe throw away.
Leeds – We’re just a 5 minute walk from either Q-Park The Light or CitiPark Merrion Centre.
Manchester – Our home in Great Northern Warehouse is also home to an NCP car park below.
London – Q Park Soho and Q Park Oxford Street are both under 5 minute walk away.
Yes – if you don’t want to play, you can come to just cheer on your friends, no ticket needed.
Please note you won't be allowed to just step in and have a go unless you've done the safety brief and there is room for another player on the target.
All our venues serve a selection of pizzas, small plates and platters, see our venue menu for what is on offer.
We also have a well-stocked bar of craft beers, ciders, wines, and soft drinks. You can purchase these as add ons at your time of booking, just be sure to select what you want, and it will be prepared for you to enjoy on or after your lane.
Our sessions take place under highly controlled (but still fun) conditions. Axes are only ever thrown down empty, enclosed lanes under the watchful eye of an experienced host.
As a result of rigorous testing, our axes and flooring have both been selected to reduce any unwanted bounces. Safety is our highest priority, and we are continually reviewing and updating our practices to prevent any dangerous situations before they occur.
We advise against drinking alcohol before you arrive at Whistle Punks.
If our instructors decide that you’re unable to throw safely, then you’ll be relegated to a spectator role for the remainder of the session. No refunds will be given.
We have sessions for a younger audience on set days and times during the week.
At all other times our venues are 18+. We operate a Challenge 25 policy, so please bring ID.
Axe throwing is a relatively low-intensity activity, so there is no reason why you can not play. If you have any concerns, please consult a doctor.
Also, congratulations!
Please try to arrive at least 15mins before your session.
If you are more than 15 mins late, we will be unable to get you on the lane booked and no refund will be given.
